Small Group Searching Activity

Presented by: Lorna Rodio

Subject Area(s):

Description:

In our Library Classroom we usually begin with a small group searching activity. Each group gets a handout with a search created for their class. After searching, the librarian asks for a report and, guided by the group spokesperson, demonstrates the search from the teacher's station. The class gets to see several different searches and the techniques used by each group. The students seem much more engaged by the collaboration and the interactivity. During the demonstration, the librarian has a chance to mention alternate ways to search or anything else she thinks important.
