Tips for Including Assessment in S.O.S. Lesson

The submissions form for creating a lesson in S.O.S. includes a field to describe the lesson's assessment. There are many different types of assessment activities including using rubrics, comparison charts, peer and self evaluations, and many others (for a longer list see The Teachers' Guide to the Internet). Assessments should measure how well students have met the learning objectives of the lesson. Assessments are more concrete when they demonstrate authentic learning or engage the student in reflecting on learning acomplished.

Guildlines for submissions:

1. Complete description of assessment activity

2. Attach any handouts or rubrics in supporting files

3. Assessment activities should relate back to learning objectives.
