This unit is designed to have middle school students research events that occurred during the Twentieth Century. To motivate them they will use a Viewmaster slide viewer to look at photos of events that occurred during the Twentieth Century. Once they have selected the decade that interests them, they will chose a non-fiction book from a series on the Twentieth Century to use for research. They will then describe the important events of that decade and put them in chronological order. They will create an illustrated time line of the period of history that they researched.
