Process

  1. Under the Process tab in the navigation bar, click on Pre-Research to access your team.  Group leaders have been randomly selected to act as a liaison between your group and me.  Group Leaders--Open your group's envelope to see what years your team is responsible for!

  2. Each member of your team will become an expert in a particular area.  Scroll to the bottom of the page for the table of the four areas in which you may become expert.
  3. Now that you have chosen what your role will be, it's time to meet with your group and hash out a game plan.  But, before you meet with your group, return to the Pre-Research tab and click the link to access the Inquiry Process Mind map.  Fill in responses for sections I and II.  Having this information before you convene will assist in guiding the direction your group needs to take.
  4. Okay...You have your assignment, you know your role, and you've met with your group.  It is time to begin your research.  You will have three days to accomplish your research, so manage your time wisely.  Follow the rubric to the letter.  It can also be found under the Pre-Research tab.  At the close of each session, your group must meet for a 5 minute debriefing session
  5. You have access to links to begin your research.  Clicking the tab Links--1949 to 1989 in the navigation bar provides a starting point for research as well as links to the Poly library.
  6. Once your research is completed and organized and your Inquiry Process Mind Map is complete, it is time to get started on your presentation.  Your group will have a total of two days to work on creating this presentation that will take the form of a talk-show style news program.  Your presentation must be 10-15 minutes in length.  It must include visual aids (PowerPoint, SmartBoard, etc.).  Please advise me on what technology your presentation requires.

  7. After the presentations have been made, you have the weekend to complete the summative task sheet.  This activity consists of concluding questions to provide further evidence of your learning.  You can print out the questions as a Word document by clicking here.
