Information Treasure

This citation buILder was created by Stacey Greene Wicksall in October of 2007 for Midlakes Middle School students.  It is recommended for use with students in grades 4-7.  The target audience is grade 6.  The buILder introduces citations as a fun treasure hunt.  The students work on citations in small groups (crews) to practice citing information treasures.  They will discover that citations are directions for finding information.  Accurate directions will lead people to information treasure and the crew that cites most accurately will win some loot (a small trinket to be awarded the next day) for directing the teacher to the treasures that they have cited!
