What is a Unit?
A unit is a collection of lesson plans with the same theme or broad topic. It may contain a number of essential questions to be addressed over several lesson plans delivered over a period of time. For example, a teacher-librarian may collaborate with a classroom teacher on a unit on marine life. As a result, the teacher-librarian would need multiple lesson plans addressing different aspects of marine life that require different information skills throughout the inquiry-based research process. The multiple lesson plans create a unit.
