Like most authors, Uma Krishnaswami did not get all of her books published right away, but she didn't give up. Write the words "right away" next to Clue #6 on your paper if the words aren't there yet.
Uma had to send some of her stories to many different publishers before she got them published as books. She didn't stop trying, and she refused to lose her sense of humor even when she received rejection letters. In fact, she even wrote a letter back to a publisher to reject a rejection letter that she received.
